HMPE is often known by the brand name Dyneema and is a high strength High Molecular Polyethylene yarn that is often found in synthetic ropes and more recently round slings.
Incorporating HMPE yarns into lifting round slings means that you can maintain the safe working load of a traditional Polyester round slings, but decrease the weight and finished width of the sling. HMPE round slings are often a third the size of standard round slings.
HMPE round slings are also much more durable, which increases the life time of the sling.
