In recent years there has been a shift within the 4x4 winch rope market to use synthetic Dyneema® ropes over steel wire. Dyneema® ropes tend to have comparable break loads but with the advantage of being easier to handle and much safer due to the lower recoil energy when the rope is under extreme tension

At Island Ropes we can splice HMPE and Dyneema® ropes on-site to your exacting specification. A lot of our HMPE diameters are kept in stock, along with the correct hooks and thimbles to ensure we can dispatch winch ropes at short notice if required.
